San Antonio Course (Parque da Floresta)
This spectacular golf course, previously known as Parque da Floresta, which opened in 1987, was designed by Pepe Gancedo, one of Spain’s most renowned architects. With no two holes remotely alike it attracts golfers to return time after time. From the stunning doglegged 1st, to the majestic elevated green on the 18th, set in a natural amphitheatre below the clubhouse terrace, it is one of those rare courses stretching your golfing skills to the limit.
The architect has created a fascinating and challenging course which unique in its style in the Algarve. There is a tendency for golfers to return for another round in an attempt to master the more demanding holes.
The holes present varied attractive views of the surrounding countryside which are sometimes lined on the horizon by the distant sea. The fairways that roll up and down through the hills often demand very good placing and very accurate shots. Golfers may find the topographical nature of the fairways are as much of a playing challenge as the actual layout of the course.
