Royal Dornoch Golf Club
Royal Dornoch is one of the finest Championship courses in Scotland. It lies 45 minutes north of the capital of the Highlands – Inverness and is well worth the trip. The Championship course is regarded as among the best 15 golf courses in the world and third behind Muirfield and St Andrews Old in recent Scottish listings.
Don’t get sucked into a false sense of security by what is a gentle start on the Championship course. The second will require a very accurate tee shot to avoid racking up a bogey or worse and as the course drops down to the very edges of the Dornoch Firth, even more challenges await.
This is a classic links golf course. It goes out and back and players must negotiate the natural humps and hollows on the fairways and the fast, immaculately prepared greens.
