The Annesley Links at Royal County Down located in a small seaside resort town called Newcastle in Northern Ireland is a stunning 18-hole links course. The beautiful course is often overlooked by golfers due to its unique location, but it is one of the finest links layouts in Northern Ireland.
The Annesley Links at Royal County Down is a short yet challenging course and only measures 4,548 yards from the back tees. The course unsurprisingly does not feature any par five holes, and only one of the par four holes exceeds 350 yards.
The course shares the same beautiful setting as the championship links course, and still poses a similar challenge. The course rarely requires long drives off the tee, however the main challenge is to be accurate with your long shots as there are often hazards lining the fairway.
The most impressive holes on The Annesley Links are found between the 5th and the 15th holes where golfers must be accurate and strategic on the short and narrow fairways, leading onto small and fast undulating greens – some of which are blind - to try and match the challenging Par 66.
