Very easily, you fly into Faro Airport in the Algarve. You’ll be met by your transfer driver and just over an hour later, you’ll be in the hotel and on Spanish time because El Rompido is just across the Portuguese and Spanish land border!
Where is El Rompido?
In the Andalucian province of Huelva, El Rompido is a stunning coastal resort, it is very low-key with unforgettable beaches and a nice selection of beachfront bars and restaurants too. You can walk into El Rompido via the scenic coastal path or alternatively take the courtesy hotel shuttle service which operates on a timetable basis.

Our clients love Precise Resort El Rompido because it has a great golfer atmosphere. You can walk from breakfast to the first tee of the golf courses.
You are automatically on a half board basis at El Rompido. The dinner at El Rompido is one of the most remarked on features of the hotel. With an ever-changing buffet and show cooking station, it is always a very popular half board hotel due to the high standards of the food and drinks.
If staying a minimum of 5 nights, you can choose to upgrade your package to semi-all-inclusive which means you can enjoy a selection of drinks between 5pm and midnight daily – ideal if just coming off the golf course!!
With an excellent swimming pool area and a spa area too – there are plenty of places to relax if taking a day off the golf course.
El Rompido is a very service-driven hotel with many of the staff having worked there for many years and they take great pride in looking after each client.

What are the golf courses like at El Rompido?
There are two golf courses onsite at El Rompido. They are called the North and South courses. The courses are similar with respect to the setting but do offer a different challenge. One of the most striking features of both courses is that there is no real estate around them, so you truly are out with nature and enjoying the amazing views throughout your round.
The South course is the original golf course and is a bit narrower and shorter than its sister, the North course which opened in 2006. The courses are renowned for their quick greens and great conditions year-round. Both are wooded parkland design and utilise the protected marshlands to their advantage throughout. We love both golf courses but if we had a favourite, it would probably be the North as it has a more modern feel with accuracy important from the tee on the front nine and then your approach play on the back nine needs to be on point in order to score well. The South is also a very good test of golf and is a touch shorter but with smaller greens being a feature.
The golf club also has a driving range and golf academy too. It is a very vibrant and busy golf club with the majority of players being residents of the Precise Hotel El Rompido giving it a really relaxed holiday golf vibe throughout.
When is the best time to go to El Rompido?
El Rompido and the Huelva region is a year-round golf destination. Enjoying a mild climate, it is most popular with golfers from April to June and then September to November. The summer months can be hot so we would recommend early morning or late afternoon tee-off times.
There are some amazing deals to be had between November and February and it is not uncommon to be playing golf in short sleeves and shorts during the winter months either!
