With such stunning views on display, as you navigate through a superb golf course layout, it is easy to see why Playa Mujeres Golf Club is considered one of the best golf courses in Mexico (sitting alongside some pretty impressive company!). This Greg Norman design will have you wanting to play it again and again, each time finding new nuances and breaks in the tricky and complex greens.
The golf course is a classic two fantastic loops of 9, each with a plethora of character and imagination in the design. It is usually friendly off the tee, though the wind is being known to pick up from time to time, making fairways and greens a top priority. A top tip is to keep on your toes on the par three 6th hole, it is a tricky little golf hole, but the biggest hazard is “Big Al”, an alligator who is regularly spotted close to the green.
The course offers up the best views whilst playing the back 9, with holes 13 and 14 offering up beautiful views of the water's edge. The stand-out is the 386-yard 16th hole, definitely the best of the bunch. You are taken right to the beach and then will have the pleasure of playing the hole with the prevailing wind. A treat for the eyes and hopefully the scorecard!
