Kiawah Island Turtle Point
South Carolina Golf Courses
Turtle Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island underwent a nine-month renovation scheme carried out by Jack Nicklaus and his team of golf course architects. The newly renovated course opened in late 2016 and has since been praised by golfers from all over the world.
The renovation on Turtle Point Golf Course provided superb improvements to the course, such as a re-grassing with Paspalum, a rebuilding of all bunkers, laser-levelling of all tee boxes and re-establishing irrigation throughout the 18-hole course.
With narrow fairway corridors, small greens, strategically placed water hazards and plenty of out-of-bounds, Turtle Point calls for great accuracy and intelligent strategies. Players not driving the ball well will struggle for par. Since it is one of the longest courses on the island, proficiency with fairway woods and long irons is a must.
The most famous holes at Turtle Point extent from holes 14-16. Holes 14 and 16 are two beautiful par 3s which sandwich a short and challenging par 4. All holes are facing different directions which allows visitors to admire the islands breath-taking scenery and notorious winds from all angles.
