One of the most popular winter holiday destinations for those searching for the sun from November to March, Lanzarote is the hidden gem in the Canary Islands for golfers on the look for winter sun. Lanzarote offers 2 fantastic and varying golf courses; Lanzarote Golf and Costa Teguise Golf Club. Each is incomparable to the other, with different shots required to excel over each layout. One thing that the golf courses do have in common are the spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean from numerous points throughout your round.
Located just outside Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote Golf is a modern links style golf course, designed to be enjoyed by those hoping to play their golf in Lanzarote. The creation of Ron Kirby, who designed a number of courses in the Canary Islands, there are incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean and also the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura.
Designed by John Harris in 1978, Golf Costa Teguise is played at the bottom of an old volcano, among lava, palm trees and native cacti. This testing 18-hole golf course requires accuracy off the tee, with testing dog legs offering the option to cut off the corner to gain yardage on your approach. Many of the holes on the golf course have wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean, leaving you with incredible memories to take home from your round.

It might surprise you to find out that Lanzarote is home to some amazing vineyards in La Gería, a protected area. Very uniquely, solo vines are planted in pits with semi-circular stone walls, a technique that encourages the harvest of rainfall and overnight dew and also to shield the vines from high winds.
Lanzarote is home to hundreds of fascinating creatures and plant life, set against the spectacular backdrop of the volcanic terrain. Huge cacti, palm trees and natural olive trees are in abundance, and it is also common to see falcons, many species of reptiles, and lots of different sea life.
You will find some of the best beaches in the Canary Islands in the South and East coasts of Lanzarote. Some stretches of fine sand are miles along the Atlantic Ocean and are very popular with an abundance of watersports and aqua-activities.
