El Camaleon Golf Course
Designed by “The Great White Shark” Greg Norman, El Camaleón Golf Course is an amazing golf experience that will have you thinking that 18 holes is just not enough, with signature holes with infinity greens that seemingly fall into the Caribbean Sea.
The course is the host of the very popular Mayakoba Golf Classic, with a strong field always on show, notable past winners include Fred Funk, Charley Hoffman, Graeme McDowell and Norway’s Viktor Hovland.
With two large 9-hole loop configurations, the routing of El Camaleon Golf Course ensures you will take in plenty of the beautiful terrain with jaw-dropping backdrops. Playing over lagoon waters and wasteland as you make your way down towards the Caribbean, you will fail to enjoy this adventurous trek, all the while taking in some of the amazing wildlife.
The iconic “Cave Bunker” is a recognisable feature of the course, which sits plum in the middle of the fairway on the Par 5 seventh hole - this is definitely a bunker to avoid (aren’t they all!). Also in wait for you are a great range of par 3s, each offering their own challenge. Whether it be that little bit more length, a green shielded by bunkers or a stiff sea breeze, making your par is always a good score.
An absolute brilliant addition to any golf holiday in Mexico.
