Dundonald Links
Located on the prime links turf of the Ayrshire coast, Dundonald Links has become a must play golf course in the area, even though it only opened in 2005. Having previously been known as Southern Gailes, Kyle Phillips (who also designed Kingsbarns) was tasked with the re-design and the final layout feels like it has been there 100 years.
Exciting times are ahead at Dundonald Links, with great investment in a new clubhouse, hotel and surrounding luxury lodges on the golf course. This will happen alongside improvements to the golf course, including a new half-way house and improving the practice facilities too.
The host of the 2017 Scottish Open, won by Rafa Cabrera-Bello, all 18 holes at Dundonald Links are a treat for the eye. Each hole is framed beautifully and sits entirely by itself from the tee, offering up many opportunities to hit driver. There is also a great selection and variation of par 3s, utilising many different clubs in your golf bag.
