Situated in the Quinta do Lago Estate, Pinheiros Altos Golf Course offers front and back 9s of contrasting styles. The front 9 is built on hilly terrain with tight rolling fairways lined with numerous pine trees. The back 9 is flatter with slightly more generous fairways, although a number of water hazards await any stray shots.

The Vila Sol Resort stands in 150 hectares just a ten minute drive from the resort of Vilamoura. The 27 hole layout was designed by Donald Steel and is divided into three loops of varying difficulty: The Prime Loop, The Challenge Loop and The Prestige Loop.

With a choice of three 9 hole loops in a stunning setting, at least one round at Vila Sol Golf Courses is highly recommended during a visit to this area of the Algarve.

The Old Course is the second oldest course in the Algarve and is built to mirror many of the inland courses in the UK, with a fairly straightforward start getting gradually more difficult as the round goes on.

Large pine trees line many of the fairways punishing any stray tee-shots. The greens are fairly small in size and well guarded, requiring accuracy and careful club selection on the approach shots. Measuring 6800 yards from the back tees, the Old Course Vilamoura has a par of 73 and offers a wide variation of challenges and is a course enjoyed by many golfers of all abilities.

As its name suggests, the Millennium Vilamoura opened for play in the year 2000 and is a combination of nine holes from the original Laguna Course and nine newly designed holes.

The generous fairways encourage players to open their shoulders on tee shots. Holes 3 to 7 are exceptions, rewarding accuracy rather than distance. The Millennium is a fairly straightforward course to play as there is a selection of four tees per hole, making it a fair test and an enjoyable course for players of all abilities.

Close to the centre of the resort of Vilamoura on flat ground, the Laguna Vilamoura is unlike the other courses in the area as it offers a links-style feel with few trees and open fairways.

As its name suggests, the Laguna Vilamoura golf course has many large water hazards which come into play on a number of holes and strategically placed bunkers require some care on both tee-shots and approach shots. Due to its open surroundings, wind can play a major factor and influence club selection especially on the par 3s.

Nestled in pine forests close to the centre of Vilamoura, the Pinhal Vilamoura was originally opened for play in 1976 and partially redesigned by Robert Trent Jones JNR in 1985.

The front 9 requires accuracy from the tee due to tight tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The back 9 is more open and suits bigger hitters who are not afraid to take some risks off the tee. The course is relatively flat and offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Laranjal golf course at Quinta do Lago Golf is set around an orangery and is a well-defined course, maintained to the same high standards as Quinta do Lago South and Quinta do Lago North.

The par 72 stretches to 6500 Metres from the back tees and has a stunning setting amongst umbrella pines, cork oaks and orange trees.  The course has several natural water features including five well- positioned lakes.

The course has been skillfully landscaped and planted with mature palm trees, affording a lush, ornamental setting like an extensive oasis.
