Nau Morgado Golf and Country Club

The Alto Golf Club located in the Western Algarve has one of Portugal’s finest golf courses. Close to the resort of Carvoeiro surrounded by Olive Groves, the championship Vale da Pinta Golf Course has built a reputation over the years and has one of the best designs on the Algarve.

Dog legs are Pinta`s main feature and accuracy and care must be taken to position your ball from the tee and allow for an easier approach shot. At just over 6600 yards, the par 71 Vale de Pinta Course provides a suitable test of golf for all level of player and leaves a lasting impression on first time visitors.

A sister course to Vale de Pinta Golf Course, Gramacho was designed by Nick Price and Ronald Fream who have teamed up to create a unique and challenging, but attractive layout.

The Gramacho Golf Course boasts a total of twenty-seven greens which enable visitors to experience different challenges each time they play.  A number of strategically placed bunkers and water features litter the course and a high degree of accuracy is required on tee shots and approaches.

Built in the grounds of the Penina Hotel, the Penina Championship Golf Course was the first course on the Algarve, opening for play in 1966. 

A masterpiece created by Sir Henry Cotton, the course has been carefully upgraded over the years and has played host to a number of major tournaments including the Portuguese Open on seven occasions.

At par 73, the Penina Championship Course is a tough test of golf for the more experienced lower handicappers.

Designed by Spanish architect Pepe Cancedo, Parque de Floresta Golf Course is located in the most western area of the Algarve close to the town of Sagres.

A wide variety of holes coupled with visually attractive views of the surrounding countryside, lined on the horizon by the sea, make Parque de Floresta Golf Course a firm favourite among golfers in the Algarve.

Boavista Golf Course is situated on a headland between Lagos and Praia da Luz in the Western Algarve. Boavista enjoys magnificent views of the Bay of Lagos and surrounding Monchique hills.  Designed in 2002 by Howard Swan, its a new addition to the areaÂ’s golf courses.

Offering two distinct sections and a variety of attractive and interesting holes, Boavista Golf Course provides a good test for the average player with fairways lined with umbrella pines and olive trees,  weaving their way between water hazards and carefully placed bunkers.

The new Amendoeira Faldo Course owned by Vilamoura is now open and receiving great reviews.  Designed by Sir Nick Faldo with strategic play in mind this 6598m PAR 72 championship course demands careful positioning to score well.

In a modern twist of a traditional recipe, cacti and wild herbs replace the role of Sunningdale's heather, spartan Holm oaks and ancient olive trees take the place of a lush English woodland, and desert scrub bunkers of crushed limestone replace Berkshire's sandy tracts in a golf course that revels in the classic principles of strategic play.

Designed by Christy O’Connor Jnr., this course complements the neighbouring Amendoeira Faldo Course and also takes full advantage of being situated in a fertile valley. Its various water features, both lakes and watercourses that are spread throughout the entire course, demand accuracy and test all golfers. The course has been skillfully landscaped and planted with mature palm trees, affording a lush, ornamental setting like an extensive oasis.
