Where to Golf in South Africa
Why choose South Africa for a golf holiday?
The Western Cape of South Africa offers experiences that will stay with you for life. The golf and scenery coupled with the rich culture and friendly people make for the perfect golfing experience. South Africa is renowned as a great value destination once you get there, you can eat and drink in the best restaurants for much less than in the UK and the standards are incredibly high.
There is a golf holiday for everyone in South Africa. There are bucket-list golf courses all along the Western Cape and mixed in with all of the sightseeing, it is a well-balanced golf trip where you really do connect with the country.
Cape Town and Western Cape
Our programme centres around the Western Cape, the best known and touristic area of the country, the Western Cape is home to the world-famous Garden Route. You can meander your way from Cape Town, through the Winelands of Stellenbosch and Franshoek before ending up in Port Elizabeth. The number of things that you can see and do in one trip is endless and it all depends on how much ground you wish to cover in your trip.
The Western Cape encompasses the very best of South Africa in our opinion. You can golf at some unforgettable golf courses such as Fancourt Links and Pinnacle Point, watch the whales at Hermanus, sample the incredible views and landscape at the Cape of Good Hope, explore the wonderful city of Cape Town and follow in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela, climb Table Mountain, lie on the beach at Camps Bay, enjoy the best food and wine in the Winelands or why not throw caution to the wind and see the BIG 5 on safari. We can put together bespoke itineraries that ensure you sample the best of resorts and play the best golf courses along the way.
How long are flights from UK to South Africa?
British Airways fly direct between London and Cape Town but there are multiple other ways to fly to the country, often via Amsterdam with KLM, Paris with Air France, Dubai with Emirates or Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. The in-direct routes are often the better value via regional hubs.
If choosing to fly back from George or Port Elizabeth (to avoid driving back to Cape Town) then we can easily arrange this for you.
What to expect upon arrival
Our local ground agents will be there to meet you upon arrival. Most people arrive in Cape Town and stay to explore the city for a few days, private airport transfers will be included.
Car hire is very popular in the Western Cape and most importantly, very safe and we encourage anyone to hire a car as you will get the very most out of your trip this way and be able to take in the very best of what South Africa has to offer.
Golfing in the South Africa - Weather Guide
Located in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are a flip reverse to that of here in the UK. The Western Cape, and in particular, Cape Town has a very Mediterranean feel with hot summers between November and February. Golfers may wish to visit when it is slightly cooler from September and extend the season into April.
Months to avoid are June to August where it is typically cooler and rainier.

The Links at Fancourt is an unbeatable golf experience. One of those must-play golf courses that will challenge and wow you on every hole.
View Fancourt Links Course >Take a trip to Robben Island if staying in Cape Town, this is where Nelson Mandela served much of his sentence and is an immersive cultural experience.
