Open Championship Venues >Links or Parkland?
It is no secret that Scotland is synonymous with links golf, at nearly every stretch of coastline there is world-class links golf to be found. Ayrshire, East Lothian, Fife, Angus and Aberdeenshire coasts all offer up firm and sandy turf, to test every shot in a golfer’s weaponry. Brilliant parkland golf in Scotland is also to be found scattered across the country. The King’s, Queen’s and PGA Courses at Gleneagles need little introduction, with stunning 360-degree scenery in the “Glorious Playground”, the James Braid and Jack Nicklaus design courses are a must-play. Situated up beyond the Cairngorms in the Highlands you will find Boat of Garten and Spey Valley, each a stunning tree-lined test of golf.

Not to be Missed in Scotland
Scotland is known for gifting the game of golf to the rest of the world, others might suggest that whisky is Scotland’s greatest gift though. Whisky (or the “water of life”) is a piece of Scotland that you can take back home with you – each drop enjoyed is a memory of your visit. Why not tour one of the many distilleries?
Robert Burns is Scotland’s most famous son, whose written words have been repeated by billions of mouths. Every new year, people cross arms around the world and sing “Auld Lang Syne”. It is believed that the only song sang more is “Happy Birthday”.
Burns grew up on the west coast of Scotland, in the golf haven of Ayrshire. This is where you will find some of the world’s most famous courses.
