Iberostar Club Palmeraie

Amelkis Golf Club in Marrakech is one of the original golf courses in the region prior to the rise and rise of Marrakech into golf holiday tourism. Designed by Cabell Robinson and opened in 1995, Amelkis is a popular golf course and attracts plenty of returning guests year after year.

Featuring 27 holes and once a regular host of the Moroccan Open, the likes of Ian Poulter have won here over the years. Comprising of 3 loops of nine called Blue, Red and Green. The Green nine being the newest loop, plans are afoot for another 9 holes to make it a true 36 hole setup.

Steeped in history, Royal Golf Marrakech was opened in 1927 as a four-hole course before extending to nine shortly after and then becoming a full eighteen hole golf course in the early 30’s.  The golf course is treelined with eucalyptus, palm, olive and cypress trees providing plenty of danger if an errant shot heads in their direction.

It is the charm of Royal Golf Marrakech that makes it such a popular course. It is shorter than most modern designs so you can keep the driver in the bag on many of the holes if you wish. You are walking and playing golfing history here. An additional nine holes were added in 2007 to modernise the golf experience somewhat.

PalmGolf Ourika is one of the most exciting golf courses in Marrakech. A truly modern design, the course has been extraordinarily thought out so that golfers of all abilities can enjoy a memorable experience. It is for this reason that it is important to pick your tee box carefully. Failure to do so can result in long carries over water and wasteland that are likely to take the shine off your round. These features of the course are what makes it stand out from the rest and it is, justifiably one of the best golf courses in the Marrakech area.

Buggies are not mandatory, but we do highly recommend them as it is a long walk particularly in the heat.  One of the best features of Ourika are the risk and reward holes of which there are plenty to choose from. The golf course is always receiving high praise for its level of conditioning from tee to green.

Boasting one of the most spectacular golf clubhouses you are likely to see with multiple bars including an ice bar, restaurants, and a top floor nightclub, you know that you are somewhere special before stepping onto the first tee!

The landscaping and overall build of the golf course is highly impressive from start to finish. The rolling fairways and the views over towards the city and in particular, the Koutoubia Mosque in the ancient part Marrakech are very special.  In keeping with the landscape, water only features on 3 of the holes and there is plenty of room to bail out on generous fairways ensuring a good pace of play and generally better playing experience.
