Cruden Bay Golf Club
Cruden Bay is highly regarded as one of the top links courses in Scotland and with good reason. The Old Tom Morris design course is an old-fashioned links experience with the wind being an ever present factor. The openness of the course allows for some absolutely stunning views.
If you’re looking for a links experience then Cruden Bay has to be played. The variety of shots required is unfathomable with each shot requiring 100% concentration and creativity. There are a fair number of blind shots on the course so I would recommend buying a strokesaver in the pro-shop. The signature hole is the 4th hole – a fantastic par 3 that encompasses so many natural landscapes and features. One of the best par 3’s in the UK.
As for the homeward stretch of holes, they provide a unique and entertaining challenge like no other. Playing alongside the beach – the breeze is an immediate factor in your club choice. These holes are so good that it propels Cruden Bay into many people’s favourite courses.
Once you play Cruden Bay once, you’ll most definitely be visiting that part of the world again just to play Cruden Bay.
