Ballyliffin Golf Club
The most northerly golf club in Ireland and a recent venue for the Irish Open on the European Tour, it has two top-class 18 hole links courses – Glashedy Links and Old Links plus, a testing 9 hole par 3 course making it an excellent option for golfers to visit.
Both 18-hole courses are well worth playing if making the trip here. The scenery here is magical with the Wild Atlantic crashing in and views out to Glashedy Rock which is Irelands version of Ailsa Craig.
The Old course is a very traditional links golf course where even the best of drives down the middle can find an uneven lie. It was recently redesigned by Sir Nick Faldo and provides a very tough test of golf especially when the wind blows in off the Atlantic.
The Glashedy Links is a world-class links course and received excellent feedback from the Worlds top golfers after the 2018 Irish Open, wild rough, bunkers with steps to help you get in and out and of course the standard high winds makes it a very tough course to play. Thankfully, they have tee boxes for all levels to make it a more enjoyable experience for members and visitors alike.
If 36 holes aren’t enough for you, the newly built 9 hole par 3 course is an excellent test of your short game and an excellent addition to Ballyliffin’s portfolio.
