Atalaya Old Course
First opened in 1986, Atalaya Old Course is one of the finest courses on the Costa del Sol. The wide generous fairways undulate gently between mature trees and flowering shrubs providing shade and all year colour. The frequently elevated greens can make club selection interesting and their subtle contours need careful judgement to sink those all-important putts.
Ideal for walking, the Old course offers magnificent views of La Concha and the Mediterranean, as well as lakes and streams populated by many species of water birds, including our two resident pairs of swans.
The Old Course was designed by Bernard von Limburger, one of Germany´s foremost golf course architects, responsible for 74 European courses. Building on this heritage, we manage a multi-year investment strategy to maintain and improve the presentation and playability of the Old Course. Each year Atalaya hosts a number of professional tournaments, whilst always offering a fair test of golf for players of all levels.
A well-stocked café welcomes you at the beginning of your round, complemented by an adjacent comprehensive short game practice area, whilst the Atalaya Golf Academy, located alongside the 13th hole, offers a complete range of practice facilities.
